iPad Evolution, Revolution, Convolution

Okay the evolution or is it revolution or would it be convolution of the iPad is near. The release of something that looks like a big phone, or something that feels like a portable monitor is going to revolutionize things for awhile. How so and why?

The ipad Basics are as follows: iPad will be available in late March worldwide for a suggested retail price of $499 (US) for the 16GB model, $599 (US) for the 32GB model, $699 (US) for the 64GB model. The Wi-Fi + 3G models of iPad will be available in April in the US and selected countries for a suggested retail price of $629 (US) for the 16GB model, $729 (US) for the 32GB model and $829 (US) for the 64GB model. iPad will be sold in the US through the Apple Store® (www.apple.com).

So hanging onto one of these things is like what exactly? Do we still need a mouse, and or a keyboard? Technically you don't but it does make things easier for you should you need one. On screen touch typing is going to be similar to their iPhone technology, and could catch on like no other.

The danger to other companies, includes most of your handheld electronic readers. Will this revolutionize we look at books and magazines? Possibly, will it be an alternative that Apple will push beyond just the launch and second upgrades? We hope so, because the truth is, Apple is doing what the rest of the PC world cannot do, and that's innovate to change. Innovation from Apple comes as easily as cancer to a prostate.

Perhaps that is the beauty of Apple. They bring innovation that nobody in the market can match due to their marketing and widespread appeal. They can force and create buzz about a product that most people don't need, or can live without. BUT, millions will clamor for this hot little item, and millions will follow for years to come. It will be another of the niche products that Apple sells that everybody wants and will want to be seen with. All Apple has to do is make the platform compatible with apps, and you instantly have a cult following. A major congratulations to the team from Silicone Valley, they will always be first and best to market when it comes innovation.

Bloom Box, Bloom Energy, Save the World?

Okay, so I have heard a lot about this Bloom Box, and how it could be a potential giant killer and save the planet so much energy just by converting the energy from the air into energy we can use. However you still need some power running through it, and supposedly you can use gas, solar, and even standard electric power.

Basically the idea works like this: Air comes into one side, and converts after hitting the secret formula and then outputs into energy. That energy can be harnessed and saved like a power plant. It will keep gathering the power and saving it and then shoot it back out through your power lines. Replacing the power company? No, it should be working hand in hand with them, but only time will tell. As Energy companies have gotten smarter, and used other people's inventions to intensify their own profit making ability.

What does it all mean, and who are the players. Bloom Energy is being funded by a venture capitalist who worked with Google, Netscape and Amazon to get them off the ground. The guy has some good ideas, and has some weight when it comes to new markets, and new ideas. The next big player is Bloom Energy, obviously run by the cool hippie Indian guy who is light years ahead of a lot of people when it comes to intelligence. Next you have 20 customers that are currently harnessing the power of the Bloom Box, yes, FedEx, yes, Google, yes, Ebay, and other silicone valley giants. Now, there is us, what do we do?

Price tag for this venture in the future could be around $3K but will it be able to reach us in time? Return on Investment is huge, and, in order for one to recoup the losses of investing in this, you will probably have to wait about 5 to 10 years before you start realizing a return. As it is now, there are huge boxes in the Ebay and Google locations with each one costing about 700-800K. Those boxes will recoup the cost within 10 years because it cut eletricity yes, but it also requires gas to power. So not immediate, not necessarily flip and switch and watch the savings, but it does provide a significant return eventually.

So what's the hubbub? The hubbub is the huge unveiling on February 24th 2010, to maybe go IPO, or maybe unveil the technology that could change the world. Will it work, will it happen, will they even get off the ground? Chances are they will, and chances are a big payday for anybody involved, so should you?

Shaun White Action MAN!

Shaun White is performing tonight on NBC at 8:30 PM tonight on NBC, and for San Diegans, its a chance to see one of their own do something that even Tony Hawk calls redefining. Yes who is Tony Hawk, and who is Shaun White, in the grand scheme of things, other than an American at the height of his game, and his skill doing something more amazing than we could imagine. The sport itself has transcended the ability of man to fly propelled by environment, and perform anti gravitational tricks on a piece of fiber glass board to make people forget that it is risking their lives. The luger who passed last week was quite spectacular and tragic, but watching those who carried on in that sport, made you appreciate the danger and abilities of the athletes involved. The luge instantly gave me chills, and a sense that they are trully propelling themselves at almost 80 MPH with nothing between them and steel posts and hard ice walls but a thin piece of material keeping them warm from the elements.

So when you watch Shaun White and see him execute at the top of his game tonight, appreciate the fact that they are risking their lives for what is considered sport. Too much emphasis is placed on who is watching, how much money is being lost by NBC, and how American's are apathetic towards Winter Olympics, but not in Southern California, and not anywhere where American's do support each other. Yes I am biased because I work with Shaun's Aunt, and she provides the nicest character references for the guy, and the generosity displayed by the kid is expected and welcoming from a professional athlete/media icon, and its the way we want all of our athletes to be.

Put your TV on tonight, and watch the guy perform at the top of his game like no other, because it doesn't come around that often when someone can perform like he does. We could all use some good old fashioned RAH RAH SIS BOOM BAH for the USA!!

Mardi Gras Fat Tuesday

With the Super Bowl Champion New Orleans comes the fact that people think of two things about that city, Flooding, and Mardi Gras. What else would you think of when you think of New Orleans? Jazz Music, crawfish, or vampires? Nah, they be the furthest thing from your mind in a town like that.

The deliciousness of New Orleans is only tempered with the salty sea that breeze from the Gulf. What is Fat Tuesday anyway...

FAT TUESDAY-the day before Lent begins, thus it is a party day. Lent we beg and show our devotion by making sacrifices in life, so thus Ash Wednesday is spent in repentence, silent sweet innocent repent. While on Tuesday we enjoy being the maniac that we are and could be. Get "fat" on Tuesday, and get saved on Wednesday.
Why New Orleans? Well the French settling in the south of the United States and having a strong port in New Orleans before the sale of the French Territory known as Louisiana, it became natural that French customs and traditions transfer over to the colonies.

In San Diego there is a Fat Tuesday party as always in the downtown area, blocking off areas of downtown to allow partygoers to enjoy a parade, a masquerade, and a lot of women, men and beads. No flashing as San Diego PD is very good about cracking down, catching, and exiting those who get too rowdy. Not to mention the beer lines, and the beer tents, really aren't that great, at about 9 bucks a beer, you are better off finding alcohol from one the balcony parties. But bring about $100 bucks for booze, tickets, and some crappy snacks.

So enjoy your Fat tuesday, and gorge yourself on the excess of life, but like many a thing, remember to take it in moderation the next day, as life is a marathon, not a sprint.

SleEp DepRivation Test 2

After cleaning up the excreted liquids and leftover dinner meal, i briskly made my way back to my abode. I had already spent the better part of three hours playing a video game as if mindless and contorted in the POWER position as they call it in the video gaming world. You know, sitting two inches from a flat panel big screen while exploring a 3d rendered world with a combat rifle, and a mace.

But as the 2 oclock hour rolled by, the monster pumping loudly through my veins like some hellbound express train driven by the big evil himself, i found myself before this terminal to pen the thoughts of sleep deprivation test 2. Test 1 was quite the rousing success, by fueling up on coffee and Keiths world famous biscuits with gravy, I was able to continue on a path to my home work and morning routine without having had any sleep. Another accomplishment in and of itself considering that my daily routine poses little challenge, yet yields a decent reward which makes one forget about those minor details.

Besides its all about what we choose to do that defines, and avoiding sleep is one of those things i aspire to do at this time. To see the shadow of the sandman creeping up behind me, but to always keep a safe distance is the goal. the magic hour being 4. why? because thats the time i usually hit the second of three brick walls. All i need to do is make it past 9 oclock the next day, and i can smoothly ride out the rest of the day while actually being productive.

i have no focus in writing this right now.
i have no focus on what i want to write, or how i want to communicate.i have no idea how i plan to move forward in this world, unless i can decide on a current plan of action. i have no real desire. it boils down to finding something to give me desire. what is that thing that can give me desire. i dont know. i need to know. i need to find it. i need to kill it. i need to capture it. i need to expand its geographical representation on a map. i need to awaken soon or im going to have slept through the decade long fascination i have with being conscious when the big it happens.

Lets just say, that there will be a process in place, and we will follow a budget for it, and make sure we have quarterly reports. these reports will summarize what we are doing on a weekly basis. these weekly basis reports will be a mix of worldy viewpoints, and urinary dreams. we are just going to get jiggy with it, and will continue to jig it.

Bottom line, i need to refocus or refoocus.

There are those of us in society that have to at one point kill their muse and end the madness of simplicity. There is a question mark in our heads as we grab hold of any weapon we can find, and heading towards the door. Considering the only weapon I held in my hands was a flat headed shovel with rust from years of digging in the mud, I felt strangely enough that this would accomplish the mission. Accomplishments, so few and futile at this juncture in my life. So much wasted energy, so many slaps in the face with moments of non brilliance that one has to wonder if there ever was a moment you contributed. Did you benefit those around you? Did you think that they cared for a moment that your best was probably worth the cum soaked hell that you currently lead into battle. Battling your demons became more important, in order for you to continue past the current point of shit you found yourself shoveling. Did you really think that the shit of God would reach your mouth? Did you look back at your life and imagine the moment you said "I made art," only to be smacked across the lips with the realization that your last bowel movement contained blood to increase the shading technique you saw on some outer space program on a foreign made television. But for fucks sake, you finally have the demons exorcised, and you know what you must do. If it wasn't for that sudden realization, instant ejaculation of hatred, you would not have that murderous intent spelled in your eyelids. You would not be prepared to reap a whirlwind of marrow and human matter upon this bitch of a planet you couldn't fucking stand. That's right, you discovered your softer side, and raped it with a knife. You discovered the beauty in hate, and the simplicity of violence. You awoke to find yourself squeezing the life out of your muse. She looks you in the eye as you continue to pound her flesh furiously with your white knuckles of death row. You let out the assassins smile as bloodlust overtakes your face, as the drool mixes with your sweat from days of dust gone by. Your muse has been asking for this, and you were all to pleased to finally drive the bitch from your mind, and the ultimate realization that there never was a moment of ecstasy in this otherwise overdramatic world in which we piss all over. Your only fear is that this symbolic murder will only last so long, and the desire could be there again, oh lord i don't ask for too much, but please let this feeling return with earnest. OH GOD, WHY DID YOU MAKE THIS SO MUCH FUN! Why did you make our bodies so soft and full of loosely packed atoms for me to turn into a mesh of lifelessness. NO, YOU CAN'T ALREADY BE DEAD!!! YOU ARE?!! The end has arrived, and there is nothing for me to do except to push your flesh deep into the ground on which you died on. There is very little pleasure from this, but there will always be the memories. I can finally replace the masturbation filled nightmares of years of abuse. I know now what can trully make me free...

Barack Hussein Obama. 44th President. Former Illinois Senator. African American. What more needs to be said about this man. He perservered through two years, he survived jabs, barbs, and shots from the other guys, and he managed to come out ahead. Like any election the winner is always remembered, and the loser is quickly forgotten, but in this case, it wasn't about who lost or who won, it was about who changed history. Regardless of who would have won, Obama on top of the campaign heap at the end will be historic whether he fails or not. If McCain would have won, it would have been historic. It was the circumstance surrounding this particular election that had every historian ready to blog, capture, and edit this moment in time. Multiple attacks on American ideals, and ways of life, have left us wanting a figure to change the climate and attitude of disgust we have when asked about politics. Ask anyone and they will give you a laundry list of down points, at no time in my 30 years of living have i heard such negative rhetoric. Enter Obama, a man who completely represents the ideals and the underlying campaign of "yes we can" and "change." He pushed us to believe, now we have to push him to believe. We have to push ourselves to believe that if he could do it, we could most certainly do it. We have to feel that if he believes in America, we have to believe in America. It is always said "it ain't the best game in town, but its the only one," and that is how we have to approach this. We have the best political system in the world, we have the best and brightest men leading it (give or take one or two terms) but we have a system that will check on, and end up smacking the heck out of anyone who decides that they are bigger than the government.

With all that said, its time for America to go to work. Quit Blogging, quit myspaceing, and definetly quit Facebooking at work, and get your company headed in the right direction, and get your career going in the right direction to making that six figure salary. So America quit Screwing around. Lets fix this, and help out Barack.

Choke-a film review

The Film Choke is one of complex relationships, skips in storytelling and narrative, and all around juicyness revolving our protagonist Victor Mancini. An odd character with such hilarious montages of sex and desire, he takes us on a tour of his life, and the story behind the title.

Chuck Pahlaniuk must have had somebody in mind when he wrote this. Chuck must have had some motive for putting our protagonist through hell for an hour and a half, until finally you realize its your mothers fault. A tragic and flawed character who doesn’t necessarily rise above in the end, but does somehow rise, after of course several hurdles that push our character to the brink of what I feel is the end all be all of human society. The bowel movement.

Okay several themes are present in this, bowel movements, and motherhood abandonment/kidnappings. Victor is basically the greatest sex addict since Dan Fielding from Night Court. He has the ins the outs the 411 on how to score, and he has used this ability to foster meaningless relationships with women in order to get back at the one who really ruined his life. But if this turned into your typical “blame momma routine,” you would be wrong. Let’s just leave the bowel movement as something that will become apparent and could be the solution to all of societies problems. Think about it, what cleans the body and the head out more than anything? But enough about that I digress on the greatness of release.

Supporting characters Denny, Cherry, Nico, Paige, and a host of older ladies, nurses, and colonial Americans, make up the eclectic cast of Choke. They add to a rich experience, a blend of breasts, and friendships with such a unique dynamic. You begin to realize that people don’t come into your life, you put people in your life. You populate it with those you choose, not the other way around. Victor is no exception as he does his best to introduce us to a slew of loose tawdry relationships that end in the inevitable with him. But again, its part of the fun.

The son of Jesus? A farfetched storyline that ends with closure, but the ride is what counts. You are transported from end beginning to end, and then your life, your hopes your dreams, all smashed in one falsetto of a swoop.

Choke is not for the Sarah Palins of our world, or the Tipper Gores, but it is one for the library. An experience, almost like the book, where you need to visit it once, but returning to the depravity again would be a bit much to ask of anyone.

Worth seeing at home on your plasma, not worth seeing in the theaters.

So an unlicensed genius is defined as one who defines themselves as having a genius idea. for example, any individual who decides that they want to update a wikipedia entry. Let's put this word to good use, and use it as often as we use the word recalcitrant. Perhaps more even, if that's not asking too much of my audience.

The Tick DVD Season one

The tick, what can you say, great lil show, with such violence, such humor, and well overall saturday morning goodness.

The episodes include: The Tick Vs. The Idea men, Chairface Chippendale, Dinosaur Neil, Mr. Mental, The Breadmaster, El Seed, The Tick, The Uncommon Cold, Brainchild, Pineapple Pokopo, The Proto-Clown, Arthur's Bank Account. Thats 12 fantastic episodes, plus, a special edition post card included in the box. You can't beat that, now if only the show had more appeal.

Like so many other shows, Invader Zim, Futurama, Dr. Katz, they tend to get eliminated and appreciated later for their genius. The genius of the Tick, is in its creation of a small world revolving around itself. What appeals us to shows like the Simpsons, Family Guy, King of the Hill, is that they get us wrapped up in the world that they created. Arlen Texas is real, but Hank Hills Arlen Texas, is just so much better. Springfield and its characters are etched in our mind. Its ridiculous how much we know about the Simpsons, even though we are not fans, or if we are, and how much more we don't know.

Best episodes from this DVD include, Dinosaur Neil, The Tick, and Arthur's Bank Account. Personal faves, you will enjoy the level of vocabulary, geo political situations, and society and its criminal masterminds. The comical genius of a criminal, versus the criminal evility they posses. Think about it, being outside the law, and operating as an agent against the law, takes a deep level of psychosis, and we all now that crazy people are funny.

American Maid, Arthur, and the other superheroes that make up the Tick's world, are just too fun. A great congolmeration of characters. Very well done show.

Ah well, that will be all for now, but I must say that WATCH the TICK today, and enjoy the feeling of a saturday morning, if its evening, pretend its a friday night and there is nothing else on TBS Superstation.

KRATOS GOD OF WAR IDIOTS

God of War 2 was simply put the only reason to own a PS2. Kratos returns as everybodys favorite killing machine. My favorite, and yours, he returns with new weapons, and spells, and a host of puzzles all over the place.

Yes more Mythology is included in this, prometheus, hermes, unicorns, athena, zeus, titans, the sisters of fate, even ares.

Challenges include such amazing puzzles, that I will not ruin this for you, because any further would do the game no justice.

Just buy it at 49.99 and enjoy the hell out of it. Beat it once, and play again. Beat it twice, and you still want to play it again.

Waiting for greatest hits is not worth it, because you will tell your friends and your friends will tell you, and not want to ruin the puzzles and games for you. Just buy it, and be pleased with your purchase.

Worth keeping a copy? Hell yes, especially when you go that deserted island with solar panels, and big screen plasmas, and a playstation 2 available, but no games. Lets just say the desert island 2, god of war one, and god of war two. worth it dammit.

GPS is now available in Mobile Devices from Boost. Why do kids and adults have to subject themselves to such madness? We now are afraid to go anywhere for fear of cameras on intersections, cell phones on everyone (with cameras), and five to six different organizations running around spying on the citizens of their own country.
